Eurosonic Festival
Eurosonic is Europe’s largest showcase festival and takes place on a yearly basis on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday previous to Noorderslag festival in the Dutch city Groningen.〔("Eurosonic Noorderslag 2011, Europa's grootste showcasefestival en Noorderslag" ), ''Eurosonic-noorderslag.nl''. Verkregen 12 augustus 2011〕 Eurosonic is part of The European Music Conference and Showcase Festival Eurosonic Noorderslag. During the festival 300 bands and acts perform on 36 stages in the city center of Groningen. Contrary to Noorderslag, the other festival that’s part of Eurosonic Noorderslag, during Eurosonic artists from the Netherlands as well as other European countries perform. The Eurosonic festival is yearly sold out very fast (within a few hours). The festival has a big stage on De Grote Markt square, which is free for public audience. The performances in the venues can only be visited by people who've bought tickets.
Simultaneously several other organisations such as Altersonic, Galerie Sign, record store Plato, Subbacultcha!, Excelsior Recordings, Double Vee, A Rocketride To Grunnsonic, Pleuropsonic, OOG Radio, Subroutine Cares organise free concerts all over the city centre in pubs, bar dancings, art galeries.〔http://eurosonicnoorderslag.vpro.nl/2012/item/7445924BDB89996EF00BF0035D37795D.html〕
